Incident Room: Measles outbreak, why now?

My editors gave me the brief to change the look and feel of Incident Room, an existing series that focuses on the big issues affecting us and the world we live in.

I put together a team of graphic designers and junior producers to create a more digital-first feel to this episode. I decided to integrate text on screen inside the incident room world, incorporated subtle sound effects as well as a “coming up” section in the opening to keep viewers engaged.

In this episode, BBC Health reporter Smitha Mundasad explores why there has been up increase in measles since October 2023. This episode is an ever-green piece of content has been promoted numerous times as this story developed.
